SCC's writers amaze me constantly,  how you constantly use your position with a magazine to come up with new and innovative ways to twist the truth to make SCC's biased results/opinions more accurate or relevant, even when the statements your make are usually opinion based rather than fact.
I am a evo/dsm nut, and you still ignored my fact based comments on your biased attempt to trash-talk the Viper ( a laughable amount of figures in that article are opinions, not facts), and even when someone like Mirza Grebovic makes a very relevant and fact-based comment, you somehow find a way to discredit the facts and stick to the biased POV that has become SCC's MO.

My new favorite example of your massively biased ways, is how you tried to twist the Top Shop Challenge rules to appeal more to your build type.  It was not an endurance motor build off, it was aimed at hp/l,tq/l, max power, a 30min. torture test  and power under the curve.
Somehow you decided hp/l, tq/l and max power was not important for this test???  You used this as an excuse to build a motor YOU all wanted, instead of a motor that was aimed at winning this build off.
You did not approach this build off the correct way and you turned your journalism more  biased than usual to make your incorrect build seem like it was the only correct build.
"in the real world, that really does count for something extra".  This build off wasnt aimed at that, it was very easy to understand, you don't deserve any "extra" points, lol, what a bunch of sore losers.  I kept up on all 7 builds, your build was the least interesting, you had the most experienced shop by far, and you talked the most trash by far, what gives??
Eric Hsu is a massive tool who teaches nothing but how to be biased and hate.
I think AMS deserves to dish out some trash talk, well deserved trash talk at SCC and IT for sure.

All I can say is that the current Senior Editor is a bit pretencious on the stories that he chooses, but the Viper is just suposed to be a all out in-line Rocket, so you can't just say is biased, though it's a bit in that direction...

I mean what better car to pick on, on their "Sport compact technologically advanced agenda" then an unwieldy powerhouse than the Viper. All their "crap" talk like you say would've never applied to a Corvette ZR1 or an Austin DB9. They could have picked a Semi truck and applied the same criteria...

It is not the same Sport Compact Car anymore, they're now prompting more and more of the same stuff the other magazines place. Lets place the article at hand as a weird version of "V8 vs 4 banger" area and change the title of the magazine to Super Street... In their defense they need more subscribers and I think they need them badly to come up with such a bad article...

not to mention the way they rounded prices, lol.....WOW!!......like i said,  BIASED MUCH?????

2008 SRT10 coupe:
*invoice - $78,380-$79,048
*market price - $81,164-$81,861
*MSRP - $85,545-$86,295

Their "90K" Viper coupe is well within acceptable rounding, BUT if you are going to round up, then continue rounding UP for the other cars in the test!!!  you don't round down to make the gap larger, LOL....
The M1 Evo costs "$38,639" for a used evo and the parts that were listed, there were other parts that cost money just the same. and the price somehow ended up being rounded down over 8K to "30K"....obviously it should have been 40K and couldn't be recreated unless you are doing most of the labor and tuning yourself, or have a good hook up with quality tuning and mechanics.

and then in the Dec. 08 issue, they try deny a Viper ACR destroying andy hope's 1:27.932 with a 1:08.xxx at the same track configuration by claiming it costs "$98,000"...  well if 8K is so insignificant you can just round it away for M1 Evo's cost,  that 8K sure is worth the extra performance the "98K"ACR has over the "90K" SRT10 coupe.

....or maybe, andy hope was out classed by a difficult car to drive and instead of trying to learn, he TRIES to talk pathetic trash.... where as other, much more accomplished automotive magazines have praised the 08's reworked suspension and new found drivability compared to previous models.

"Had  we known the Viper would be this slow, we might have done things differently.  There is a chance that, on the right day, stock evo might take this thing down." -AH
what a foolish statement!!!! its like a bunch of kids are writing this junk.

oh, yea i agree, it was a great car to pick.  the laps were conducted and written in a bias way.  and i am sure (i hope! lol) the m1 evo still would have taken the Viper out, but the lap times would have been much more accurate and comparable for the track they were at.

What they needed to do was create a feeling of "Counter Culture" against the mainstream ricer movement that has completely obliterated the niche that is ours. Show how wings are supposed to be set and calibrated, test on real cars (not just evos all the time) on what lowering stance works and more articles on budget racing not "We're going Auto-X'ing on a budget, with 240 dollar tires each...(On a 20-25k evo)..." How's that budget? That phrase would scare the most ambiguous amateur racer back to Grand Turismo 4...

I love the project corolla by the way, I can't get enough of shiny new parts that would equal the price of the car many times over, but its so damn fun just seeing it.

All I'm saying is that this Ultra Muscle vs. Sport Compact just doesn't work and no one would find it appealing, but a 13 year old kid who thinks that nitrous comes in a bottle and you put it in your tank...

I'm just saying some constructive criticism in case someone calls me a Hater that's all...

Hey Jay Chen or Ed Loh *** Evo's and NSX's get a early 90's GTI or N/A 300Z something below 5K for the love of god...In all honesty the day you guys when upscale on your builds you neglected about two thirds of your readers.

yea, and there were times when certain articles pointed towards that direction, but as a whole, they never made the move and somehow it turned very predictable.  I also love reading about their over budgeted project cars, amazing what was being forked over for such a low volume magazine!!!  how about cheap project cars on a real budget?  SCC isnt the only magazine to have a over the top project car budget, its like the writers are doing all this for them and their needs/wants instead of covering other peoples dope rides, lol..... you were never supposed to be making the dope cars we read about on the money you make from your low sales, lol..... the way most United States businesses work is so counter productive as a whole, only the top 5%-10% reap the benefits off the lower 90% who work the most by far.
