Now now, before you go bashing me on my crappy header choice, i used to have a comptech header.  So might you ask what happened to my beautiful header.  Well my car was stolen a while back (while i was at school, and my car stays at my parents house while i'm at school), so the damage was repairable but the stock header went back on. I wish i could get my hands on those dick ***

So anyway i was driving along, spirited as always, and wouldn't you know it there is a big chunk of sidewalk in the middle of the road.  And yes the sidewalk (chunk) was in the middle of the road, not my car on the sidewalk.  Construction was going on.  And well my car's center of gravity is well..lower.  So a huge clunk later and what seemed to be a continuous stream of black crap on the road that i could see in my rear view mirror, i knew i was screwed.  Luckily I was about a thousand yards to my house so i drove there.  Sure enough i get out of the car and i can smell oil and i look under the car to see my car's life-force is rapidly draining.

Drive it up on ramps and assess the damage.  Bent headers and crumpled oil pan.  *** just what every college kid strapped for cash needs.  So I embark on this task from ordering an oil pan and gasket from kragens.  I didn't plan on replacing the header, because the header survived despite being dented in, thanks to the pipe within a pipe combonation.  So anyway I start unbolting the b-pipe and the third bolt wouldn't you know it defeats my 2 foot wrench by stripping.  So what do you do when you can't unbolt something? Damn straight! Grab the saw-zaw.  Three cuts (one through the 2 inch and two cuts through the secondaries) and it's off.  At this time i decided to order a header.  I figure i'll just buy something cheap.  I needed carb legal so I could tell the cops to stick it but i didn't want another header that was 500+.  So I found pacesetter header that comes with the coveted carb legal exemption.  So off came the crumpled piece of steel that was my oil pan.  And too my surprise the pickup is bent.  Another week goes by.

So now for the inspection.  It's a 4-2-1 with the mergers basically being in the same place as stock(primaries look a tad longer).  The primaries and secondaries are a lot bigger in diameter compared to the dinky stock (cut the stock b-pipe in half, there is a smaller pipe in there, the second pipe is added insulation)  The primary to secondary merger isn't too bad at all.  Almost a smooth merger, i took a file to get rid of some of the imperfections.  The pipes were actually cut at an angle and then welded together.  Not bad for $160.  But the secondary to collector is about as bad as stock, just bigger pipes.

So putting the thing on was not so easy.  Maybe the after market oil pan was bigger but i had to heat up the header and bend it to clear the pan.  So a little bit of work.  But it went on as well as the O2 sensor.  It comes with gaskets as well.  They are paper and the donut for the cat hookup will not work and you will need to get another one. And yes that black paint is just paint, it will smoke and peel off to reveal those wonderful looking headers.  Wonderful if you like your headers with no luster and being brownish-black with white flakes from the burnt paint.  But my butt does read some nice low end torque improvements as well as what feels like some power over the whole rev range.  So definately better than stock.  Compared to comptech, my butt is not that sensitive but i'm sure comptech has a few more ponies at the top end.

So to summerize.  Pacesetters are carb-legal, cheap and will free up some flow.  Downside is the craftsmanship is poor and they are pretty ugly.  And watch out for huge pieces of concrete in your road, they are costly, 500 dollars costly and 3 weeks without your rig.

Wow man, too bad for you to lose an expensive part to someone's carelessness. I would've gone back and grabbed that chunk and tossed it through their company truck and said "Clean that *** F***ER!" But either way as long as the part does its purpose there shouldn't be much of an issue, just emotional loss as you see the cruddy paint peel off....... (I'm not helping am I?)

Have you tried using that engine enamel paint? It's only like 2 bucks.

Hey what happened to your steelies did you find the rotas or the OEM rims?

so when you dropping a k24 turbo in your fit , that would be amazing.  I'll never get rid of the teg.  that's my ultimate goal, and to strip the thing as well

Not in the near future... I quit my regular job (nobody gave a damn) and my brother has lost interest on the paint shop (garage behind house) and since I don't know it all I don't think I can take over. That's a good goal though I don't think I could pull it off on the Fit, being a Fit and all not a cool Integra.

I guess we're both in a bind...

ps.
Are you gonna copy what SCC did with their Integra? (Though knowing you, you probably have a mathematically perfect suspension made out of space age materials )

Oh crap!!!(covers up secret project suspension) I don't know what you're talking about.  But anyways your fit is much cooler then my integra.  Fading paint, wheels that don't match, a non existant radio antenna, 3 tinted windows, a dent from my father dropping his motorcycle on my door.  It's definately seen better days.  At least the motor still pulls like a champ, I guess that's what really matters.

But once I procure a job then i'll make time.  But everything is just so down.

Sounds kickass to me, but then again it's just me. The thought of a car that looks like that overtaking pimped out cars on the freeway who stay in 3rd so their engines sound louder through their foljers muffler...

Why don't you become a civil-engineer and drone yourself on overpasses. Whoever the next president is, they're most likely to make a bunch of temporary jobs in infrastructure, until things pick up...

Oh and I was a head of warehouse if you could believe that. I'm a natural born leader per say
