I can't *** believe it! I just went to the city of Las Cruces (20.2 miles away) came back (now its 40 miles) got a call from my friend went up to his town (which is 10 miles away) and came back. Just for curiosity I wanted to see how much gas I wasted and it was a little over a gallon!!!!

My exact words:
"OH MY *** GOD!" (and a couple of people looking at me kinda shady at the pump)

I just shifted every 2,000 rpm and kept a feather touch on the gas peadal, by that I meant driving like grandma. Just easing into speed and crawling to a stop.

What the *** are people driving Hybrids for?! I just went from 28-30 MPG to 60!!!

I don't care if people flip me off. Are they paying for my gas? No...

i wouldn't get so excited.  I've seen pumps that pump usually pump up to +/- 1 gallon.  Basically what i'm saying is that it can vary pump to pump.  The sensors don't always shut the gasoline off at the same time. Some pumps might fill your tank to ten gallons, some might top it off at 11 gallons, and some only a dismal 9 gallons.  So if you got a pump that say pumped half a gallon less than your last fill up then for only 60 miles you would have really gotten 40mpg.  To get a better estimate you need to drive the tank because the error is so large when only driving small distances.  You probably got great mpg with a fit, probably 45mpg if you were really good. but with the inacuracies of pumps i wouldn't believe 60.

Hater

The tank's empty right now or about to, so I'll fill it up tomorrow and try it your way. When the little light turns on means that you only have one gallon left right?

You owe me 30 (well 15) bucks you cheeky bastard

46.2....  (half a tank didn't want to wait till the end, so I skimped out and ballparked it... says allot about my persona doesn't it?)

I need online  bill-pay so I don't have to drive everywhere all the time, that and the nearest city is 20 miles in either direction...
