The slave cylinder wasn't too bad...just didn't have my baby for a few days. The dealership was real quick about it so it was no problem because it was free.
moe4620, as far as I know anything that alters the actual revs, timing, or anything internal would void the warranty because they say that it can lead to malfunction of other parts or break the motor altogether. Other parts like bolt-on's (i.e. air intake)would only need to be approved by taking it to the dealership and double checking with them just to be safe. I think that the air intake and the exhaust have been approved by pretty much everyone to not void the warranty unless you have an extremely strict dealer you go to.
I'm still waiting for some more parts to come out because the axle-back exhaust sounds good, but I also heard that there is alot of restriction between the headers and the rear axle, and would love to get even better breathing room both in and out. I have yet to look under and see it for myself.

Anyone know how much power the CVT transmission will handle when they do start coming out with serious performance parts like turbo kits and such?

hey i just got my new 08 lancer manual transmission. as of right now the next step seems to be the intake. ive been reading everyones post about it and that looks like what i should start off with. i hope to see more performance parts for it later in the year when the evos come out but im excited and love the new look from the old 06 body.

My husband wants an '08 Lancer GTS real bad and I'm thinking of getting it for him as a present. He loves the car but doesn't love the horsepower. I've been reading all of your comments and tips for add-ons but I have some questions.
I know what some things are but I can totally admit that I am not a car person. If someone could tell me what these things are and what they do I would be eternally grateful.
1. A cat-back system 2. Piggy back system 3. Pulleys 4. Strut bars
Even with all of these things will he be able to get some real power or should I wait and see if I could get him an Evo or something? Will adding on a Turbo system/kit/pack thing add on lots of power? Do they have any body kits out yet? Also, has anyone tried doing donuts, pulling the E-brake, or just doing dumb stuff in it? If you have, can you tell me how it does?
Thanks for your help.

i have a 08 lancer EX GT...its pretty much the american GTS model. i have the CVT w/ paddle shifters & rockford fosgate audio system...etc. im planning on the injen intake, greddy exhast, and looking at some rims right now. i know it came with factory alloy 18's...is it possible for 19's to fit with some low pro's and not rub inside the wheel well?? i also wanna know if anyone knows of any supercharger kits for the lancer or even any universal kits u can fab urself??

I am looking for anyone who has attached the ecu pig onto to their ecu. was it difficult did it give you performance enough to risk the warrenty. Im not concerned about the other post that state the lancer isnt fast I have blown doors off cars that have at lease 200 hp kept up with 250 hp and blown away by 300 and up. It is light enough to be quick and the gas is great i am willing to lose some mpg but not enough for the turbo kit... lil help
