well seeing the way you stuck up for them and defended them and were so happy to hear the they were thinking about doing a j-body cavalier project car, it sounded like you liked them.  usually when somebody defends something with such passion, they usually like it. dipshit.

actually I did not say anything other than
"the truth is using a j-body is a better idea than a prelude because everything that can be done to a civic or integra has been done, because, .............wait for it,............................THE DRIVE TRAINS ARE INTERCHANGABLE. so using a prelude would be redundant."
that is not sticking up for cavs it is saying that working on a honda would be pointless and nobody reading the magazine could learn anything.
I also said
"Lets get this straight, in my opinion the J-body SUCKS. It's ugly, slow and a total chicks car, but so is the civic, neon, focus, you get the point. They are made for one purpose, driving to work and getting groceries."
and
"I have a question. Has anyone ever said "You know what, I want to buy a Cavalier today?"
If you have, you REALLY need to get yourself into a real car for a change."

If you try to put works in my mouth, make sure my original words are not WRITTEN on the same page.

Ok, I was wrong.  But let me get this straight, you want to see Sport Compact Car do a project car that you think and i quote, "SUCKS, ugly, slow, a total chicks car.  And their only purpose is driving to work and getting groceries" ?  wow...

Hey, I never said I wasn't weird.
I would even like them to do a CVCC.
I like all cars and just get tired of seeing the same ones over and over. That is why I actually read the hybrid how to on the FIT.
What i would really like to see is a S2000 conversion on a Prelude. I always thought that with the long layout of the Prelude that it should have been RWD from the beginning. I have been thinking about getting a shell and putting a Mopar 360 in it, sure it would be front heavy but *** would it be fun.

Weird, i have always thought about the same thing for the prelude.  Also i like the Mopar idea.

well, it's a great looking car that they should have made RWD, after all mazda did it with the Miata.
Dodge should have done it with the Daytona, they do make RWD V8 conversions for it, toyota did it with the supra, why couldn't more companies make a small platform RWD vehicle. None of them made in the U.S.

I think the prelude would have been more popular if it had been a RWD.  if it was, then the prelude probably would still be around and not the S200.

I don't think a J-body is worth the effort, there's just not much to wring out of that platform and it is just ugly.

I'd definitely like to see a Cobalt project car, they don't have a single Chevy in the project car fleet yet, and that would be a more accessible car for most than the ION, even though they're essentially the same.

Either Cobalt SS/SC or just plain SS. I'm sure there's a good amount that could be done with either.

I have to agree with shelbyfan on one point.  I also get tired of seeing the same thing done over and over again.  Sure some of thecars in the mags are nice but just seeing the same car done 300 different ways is just boring to me.  Nobody is original anymore.  People are too scared to buy somthing out of the ordinary and build it into somthing respectable.

Just look through your latest sport compact magazines of any name and what do you see?  The usual Subarus, Evo's, 240's, Hondas, etc.  It's easy to build a car when everyone and their mother has done it before you.  The person that earns my respect is someone who pioneers a build that has never been done before or at least isn't a common build.

The problem with this is that it wouldn't sell magazines because most people into sport compacts are lemings.  They follow what everyone else is doing and therefore, want to see the same crap over and over again.  Am I lying?  Any objections?

I think a Cavalier is more accessible to moe people than a Cobalt/Ion/G5. Chevy has stopped making the Cobalt SS Supercharged, the Ion is soon to be out of production, and the G5 was never available as a GXP. A used Cav is cheaper and easier to find.

But I digress. Most people I know who are "into" imports just like "that Civic from The Fast and the Furious with the gnarly body kit and awesome graphics". These people think that S14, 2JZ-GTE, and DOCH are just turbos that make you car faster, or somethng equally stupid. They call themselves enthusiasts, but don't know the difference between a boost controller and their left nut. These are the folks that want to see more Evos and Integras on the cover.

There are plenty of cars that could me modiffied for a different project car. But does it have to  be a GM? *** If GM is what they want why not oh lets say ummmm.... Saturn? oh Bring OPEL or even better a bloody saab turbo? Yeah SAAB is GM. Why don't they do something different... Suzuki?  Lets all stop talking about thew worlds crummiest car and call it a day. We'll wait until the new Cobalt SS arrives to continue this conversation. They say it'll have 260hp... Does that sound good... NO J bodies its like saying lets make a no legged dog  a race horse.
