THATS RIGHT! THE INFAMOUS GTR WILL BE ABLE TO BE BAUGHT BY ALL THOSE WHO WANT THE INSANE TORQUE AND HP OF THE GTR IN THE US! NO MORE IMPORTING THEM!
from the nissan page itself!
"Nissan GT-R is a go for U.S. The dream of every red-blooded automotive enthusiast is coming true. On April 12, Nissan Motor *** Ltd. President and CEO Carlos Ghosn gave the wake up call; the Nissan GT-R is go. The production version will make its world debut at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. It will go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007. U.S. and Canada will follow in Spring 2008."

Not a big deal. For $70,000 and a few mods I'll build a Z06 that's smoke it.
Not that I don't like the "Skyline". Not that at all. Just not a huge deal to me.

If I had 70 grand to consider on a new car.. there would be a Porsche Cayman (the hardtop boxster) sitting in my driveway. While the skyline is a hell of a car.. I like my driving experience to be more pure, without more computer power than the spaceshuttle between me and what the car does.

i have always loved skylines. my favorite one is the v spec II...ive always wanted this car sooo bad, its one of my big goals to eventually get this car...and now that its being sold in the US i know have an easier time getting it, sure its not going to be the same model i want, but thats the fun of tinkering. sure itll take me a bit to make that 70k-100k but its all part of the anticipation.

Skylines are cool cars, and certainly have potential for a lot of power, but I agree with Mad Machine on this one. I'd rather have something more pure. Anyway, not that I've ever driven one, but I'm kind of disappointed that they're ditching the I6 for this new car. As for that R33, that's a lot of money for car that's eleven years old...I don't really like the look of them anyway. The front looks too much like a Sentra.

I am die-hard Nissan fan. If I had the doe I would purchase a Skyline or at least the engine and replace the sr20det already in my 240sx.

Oh, I am too. But Skylines just don't suit me. I'd much rather have a JDM 300ZX or S14 Kouki. I don't like the S15s too much though...the rear reminds me of a Pontiac Grand Am.

The GT-R is cool looking and all, but I'll never be able to afford one. Besides, it's gonna be f'n heavy! I'm partial to the slightly lighter R32 GT-R and the RWD GT-S versions of the modern Skylines. If I had $75k to throw around, it would go into making the Sileighty I'v always wanted, as well as an Evo IX MR for a beater.

yah, i know what your all saying about the skyline, but idk, its just been my ream car. i love the impressive numbers it can crank out, and how little it takes to get them. and yes they are heavy, but thats why you do some weight reduction, no back seats, no a/c, anything to make it lighter. i probably wont have the money for it for a while, but everyone has a dream of something, and a goal that even they might know to be rediculous, but thats why its a dream/ goal, it gives people something to strive for.
while i agree that there are MANY different cars that i could have, the would be just as god with that amount of money, its just one of those things that, they were never readily available, and now that they are here, it makes it even more enticing to buy.

Hey! son ! when you get a skyline or GT-r than open your big ass mouth, till then shut the front door!hahahaah! American cars are a joke! y dont they drift? FORGET THEY MIGHT FLIP!!!! how many times has your dumb ass seen a skyline lose to an American car? Exactly! never. Skylines are specifically engineered to withhold approximately over 1250 hp...smart one! corvettes cant even hold 850hp before you see them at a junk yard or at a bon fire!!!hahahaha! get real! afford then open your mouth...
