Well I know this guy with an SRT with larger injectors recalibrated or as he calls it "Stage 2" ECU and an HKS B.O.V. and I can say its wicked fast not Viper fast but wicked fast for the car. I don't know how the SRT-4 can be overrated? Its cheap, ugly, and has a lesser trading value than a Camry. Its perfect for whomever wants a cheap, fast, litle car thats all. And why you going to car shows you'll never see a a car with performance upgrades you'll see anorexic girls with fake boobs on top of well I like to call it "Plastic on top of plastic" Go to your local SCCA meet and find out what they do to them cars. I'm not criticizing you just saying find out!....

This has by fa been one of the best posts Ive read in a while. you have so many different views, some justified others not so much. To stay on topic I feel that its all opinion. Everyone on here has different cars, different likings but the again its all the big picture. We are all on this because of 1 thing: We love tunning cars! Wether your like me and I took this quote from Shelbyfan (great cars btw):" i think that everyone is entitled to buy or build any type of car they want without having to worry about what some people feel about their vehicle." I admit, I drive and have been tunning my Hyundai...and NOT the Tiburon...an Accent. Why on earth would I do that? Well I would sit back and see guy in these small mouse like CRX's  rolling in to the track and TOAST V8's...just eat them up and at the time I had a 1970 Mustang 351 Fastback I thought I was the **** with that car but seeing that got me to think. Later I sold it and bought the Accent because who can beat a 10 year 100K mile warrenty, plus I needed a gas saver. A poor college kid dosen't need to be dumping what little he has into gas. Anyway I dealt with it for a year then I remembered those little turboed CRX's with their 1.6l engines and then I saw the Mini Cooper's specs and THEY TOO had 1.6l engines...so I figured...WHAT THE HELL! I'll try it. Do I get ripped on for it?...EVERYDAY. DO I care? No. Its my car and I will do what I want with it, besides how many people can say they raced an Accent and lost in thier 350Z? Not many, just my buddy Robert, lol.

Point is The SRT4 is not for everyone. Would I by one? Prolly not. Not my style. Is it fast? Oh yeah it is! Can you TUNE it? Deffinatly. Unless your cars pushin 1,200 WHP or your blowing fully built engines every time you race...you can always do more to make it better.

Well since your such an idiot you do realize Mazda has souped up versions of its models from the showroom floor. I mean "Mazdaspeed" is not just a decal slapped on the side of a regular model right. What is wrong with the factory providing consumers with performance vehicles with "Factory Warranties" unlike when you take a new stock vehicle and slap a turbo on it and realize you have no warranty after you blow the motor up. and if your gonna hate on dodge with the factory SRT-4 why not The SRT-6 , SRT-8 or SRT-10 models? How bout the EVO GSR-MR , Lancer Ralliart , eclipse ralliart , Mazdaspeed3 , mazdaspeed6 , mazdaspeed protege , mazdaspeed Miata , Civic Si , WRX , WRX STi , Audi RS4 , Lexus IS-F , BMW M3-M5-M6 , Cobolt SS , HHR SS , Impala SS , SVT Focus , Mini S JCW edition , RSX type-s etc... I mean anything with SRT , Mazdaspeed , Nismo , SVT , SS , TRD , Type-R etc... is going to be a factory hot rod why not pick them apart as well.

Dodge also pioneered the FWD turbo market. The Neon SRT-4 was definitely not the first. Back in the 80's when the fastest Ferrari's were running 14's and the Z28's had 180hp Dodge came out with a car that absolutly obliterated the competition. When the First CRX's and GTI's where running 17's the little Omni GLH and Shelby Omni GLHS absolutly raped them. This was a little turbocharged compact hatch that could run low 14's and pull .88G on the pad (sound familar?)
giving cars costing 5-6 times as much a run for their money. Without Chrysler and their close relationship with Mitsubishi, their would be no 4G63, no DSMs and the Diamond Star guys would have gone the way of Yugo. This not even counting the Shelby Daytona, Shebly CSX shadow or the Spirit R/t's. There was nothing out during that time in their class that could run with them. Guess what, all my friends with their Hondas would *** and still say it was just a Dodge even in 1986.
