I only read the first few posts but the thread starter is moron. If u dont like the SRT-4, then u HAVE TO hate evos, wrx's mazdaspeed 3's, rsx type s's, etc. I owned an SRT-4 and actually had it lemon lawed due to an electrical issue and i wouldnt buy another chrysler product only cause of how they treated me over the situation. But besides that, i freaking loved that car, its a mean looking car(i guess is a matter of opinion). Its a purpose built machine, who the *** cares that it has crank rear windows....look up the dodge spirit R/T, they also had power front manual rear windows. Dodge purposely didnt put the neon badge on the SRT4 cause besides the general body, its NOT a neon, but who cares if it was? The drivetrain in them is extremely reliable, with the only issues being misfiring which an upgraded coil wires and modern performance heatshield will fix. There were never any head gasket issues, and the trannys are bullet proof. the stock blocks are reliably good for 550 whp. Do some research before u bash a certain kind of car moron. Who cares if u see an SRT4 driver who thinks he has the best car, I see honda civic owners who think the same cause they put a fart can on the back.

HAHAHAHA.....
You're sitting on the computer ragging about how people should build their cars from the ground up, not buying cars "with any mods, including stock turbos" BUT YOU DRIVE AN ECLIPSE GSX WHICH HAS A STOCK TURBO. So what's the difference between your GSX and an SRT-4? Other than the SRT-4 would dust you?
BTW, I think you're full of *** That GSX doesn't put out 550hp. Where do you live? I have a '93 300ZX, I'd love to find out if that Eclipse is anywhere near as fast as you claim.

note- I have nothing against the car itself, i respect anything fast. but even fellow SRT owners agree, the vast majority of SRT4 owners are A-holes.
coming from an SRT4 owner on SRT4 forums: "I've pretty much realized that the MAJORITY of SRT-4 owners are douchebags.
No respect for other cars or being a car "enthusiast" of any type.
I blame the low price of this car and the ability of younger people to buy them. Also the general decline in common *** sense, and utter stupidity of this generation.
Granted there are alot of non douchbags that drive SRT-4's, but in general, alot of them are douches."

The worse car people to be around are, Mopar Muscle, Corvette, Mustang VTec, DSM, Model A and T, ah, *** they all are asses, because it's not possible for people like this to agree that their brand of vehicle might not be the best.

There are people of every car type that are douchebags, And your lying if you own any of these kinds of cars and havent acted like somewhat of an *** in terms of your car at one time or another, I know I did when i had my SRT. You cant help but pull a supercharged s2000 on the highway in a bone stock SRT and then laugh at him when he wont give up. Ive been the passenger in many peoples cars when you just have to show someone up, doesnt mean you think you have the most bad ass car out there. Example, In my friends Altima se-r and a brand new mustang gt wants to play, so my friend drops a gear and they go, the gt barely pulls him(im talking about barely inching away) and the guy in the mustang gives us a thumbs down...aka, acts like a *** when his 300 hp sports car barely pulls away from a 4 dr boat of a sedan.

I love the fact that my mostly stock, i had a boost controller and an intercooler, turbo Dodge Shadow, beat, by about 2 car lengths. a highly modded, turbo CRX. the guy had been talking smack all night about how he was gonna take out that in that white POS, me. Don't know why he went after me. After that he was saying how he would have smoked my azz if he had used his noz. Even his friends were making fun of him and were fairly cool, they all had Honda's and we chatted for awhile. Even people in the same group have different views. Some are dicks and some just like cars. And the dick in the CRX did use his nozz in the next race and proceeded to blow his engine. aparantly a "highly modded" car cant take a 200 shot of N.O.S.

there is alot of misinformation in this thread....the srt-4 does have a stock bov but it is a non-atmospheric bov more commonly reffered to as a surge valve ......the block is not a mitsubishi block but actually comes from the turbo variations of the seabring that are sold outside the us.........the block is a split deck design and in stock form the crank can hold over 1000hp as proven by dcr they run the 1300hp fwd with stock crank and block......the rods are stamped steel with snapped caps for perfect fit........the pistons are outsourced by mahle .................. the block is outfitted with oil sprayers from the factory to keep pistons cool......i actually have a stage 3 srt-4 and i am a dodge tech i hated the concept then i drove it and fell in love .........as a technician i havent seen any of these break the transmission is very very beefy i have the upgraded turbo and am close to 400hp on stock motor with other mods and not 1 single thing as broken i have been at this power level for over 30k miles the car has 55k on it......people who critisize the car need to drive one look at the rest of the SRT lineup the srt-8s and srt-6 srt-10s.....dodge takes the srt name very serious they built the car very well its touch as nails..... i used to be one of you "haters" and a real man can step back and admit he was wrong ...i did..............

not to get involved in a keyboard tough guy contest, but im sorry....a stock srt 4 will NEVER pull a supercharged s2ooo.....a s2000 pulls almost identical hp numbers as a srt4 just on its naturally aspirated 4 cylinder......(tourque numbers are,nt close though) but a s-charged s2000 should run atleast mid 300s in hp numbers, sorry bud , u musta meant a regular s2k, either that or your full of it.

The SRT-4 was created to appeal to young buyers thinking of getting a japanese compact sports car. I also read somewhere that most SRT-4s are underrated on hp. Some can acheive 235hp on a dyno. Who was the moron who said that the turbo came off a sebring not sold in U.S.? It really is a Mitsu TD04LR-16gk with 6 cm turbine inlet. Who needs a bov? The srt makes kickass noises anyway!

I can't say from experience, but as far as I know, the SRT-4 is cheap, fast, and fun to drive. Isn't that what this magazine is about?

the srt is heat soaked from the factory to give it a more real world hp rating. not like a lot of Japanese(you know who you are) that give HP ratings from the crank

I happen to own a 240sx, an evo and an srt-4. And you will never know until you drive one....they are just fun cars to drive. Its not about proof in the numbers or pulling on an s2000. Mopar is back baby...deal with it

Mopar aint back dude seriously the only thing about mopar thats any and i do mean "ANY" good about MOPAR is the new charger. Neons are just like lil hondas they start out being stock and then u but a 3 inch exhaust and a turbo and it sounds like everyother weedwhacker civic going down the road. Thank fully my cavi can whoop any SRT (Slow racing trash) 4's a**.
