I got my lancer a few months ago and the only issue that I have had was that my slave cylinder went out. It wasn't that big of an issue because it was caused by a defective part. I love the 5 speed and how it revs. I'm thinking about the intake and maybe the axle back exhaust because that enormous piece of metal that they call a muffler just doesn't seem to be working out in my mind. It'll take a few more months fo most parts to start coming because we all know the big money maker is the Evo. It's hard to sit here and wait for parts to come but it depends on the reliabilty of the part in my eyes rather than who can push out the first one.

To bad about your slave cylinder man. I got my GTS last month and put the intake from Road Race on two weeks ago. I know the engine is breathing easier now but I'm not totally sure if it has taken a full second off the 0-60 time as claimed by manufacturer. I have the cvt trans version and without a clutch, the weak bottom-end of the engine is a real let down. I wish there was something I could do. I'm looking at the piggy back and the exhaust right now and even the lightened pulley from Road Race. I'm worried that the exhaust will be little more than just additional cop-awakening noise. Has anyone tried any of these hop-ups? How about any of the suspension hop-ups? Anyone?

alright i just got a lancer gts 2 weeks ago. i already ordered the short ram intake from roadrace and i was also looking at the Road Race Piggy Back ECU. is that pretty much a poor man's turbo? and if i did get it would it kill your powertrain warranty?

As long as your phone is Bluetooth enabled you just have to link it to your car. All you have to do is contact your cell service and they can advise on how to activate it. You do not have to pay anything extra for this service from the dealer or your cell service.Hope this helps.

Anyone know a good upgraded exhaust system that is fairly quiet? I don't want to wake up the cops. Thanks!

The Road Race Motorsports Axle Back exhaust. I put on my gts after the rrm intake. The stock one was just so pitiful and cheap looking with that bolt on tin tip. Lastly, I put on the rrm crank pulley. No piggyback. Piggy back will void the warranty. The other parts I can take off if i need warranty or i trade in. The exhaust sounds cool. Close to stock at idle once the engine warms up. A little loud when i first start it. Sounds way better than stock when you get on it, but not offendingly loud or rice at all. Plus, I noticed about a 500 rpm increase if i leave the trans in cvt mode. The exhaust had the biggest impact on performance compared to the other parts. The intake just made it sound nasal without much performance. The pulley was the hardest to feel although there's no denying it's helping because the stock one feels like it's made out of lead in comparison. Together, the intake and exaust sound good and i wouldn't recommend doing intake without exhaust. All parts installation is easy and i've never worked on anything but hobbyshop rc cars. Everyone should do themself the favor and get the valentine one radar detector with 1.8 software too or they'll be paying for tickets instead of performance parts. I've got one on order. I'm sure the piggyback will help too but look out for minivans, other bone stock piles on the road and small pickup trucks. I've been schooled by all of the above in a straight line. The lancer is a great handling car but is dissapointingly slow even with some mods. It's only fast if you mindfuck yourself into thinking it is when your on the road by yourself. Then you pull up next to some soccer mom and get blown away. The only thing that will save this car from being hopelessly slow is a turbo kit but it still won't be as good as a stock wrx. I'm going to drive this car the way it is and not waste anymore money on it until tax return season. At that time I'm going to take all the parts off and ebay them. Then I'm going to take all my money and trade my gts in for either an evo9 or a 2006 sti. 4wd is a must. Turbo + fwd = lame around corners. Good luck to everyone else and their gts's. I hope they're enjoying them.

ok i got my new lancer and i havent done anything yet (i know sucks). But i need to do some thing and i dont want that intake to reduce my 0-60 time by a second. I think the evo x and the gts, and es are all the same engine execpt the x has a stock turbo and a few other performance parts that are compatable with the lance gts. i need for this people to come out with some damn turbo and intercooling systems for this thing. That is the only down side to a new makeover for tuner cars.
does anyone kno a place to start with the intake, that wont take away from my warrenty

ctorch22: I'm looking to add some extra power to my Lancer, does anybody know who makes anything yet? I'm looking to start off with a cold-air intake and maybe a cat-back system.
Just bought a 2008 Lancer GTS. VERY happy so far but am interested in some Mods like ctorch22. Thanks for any 411. Threesticks
