Ok here's the issue i have a 02 mazda protege 5 with a speed zone lip kit ( gives it about an 1 to a 1 1/2 drop look ) also i have 18's on it. I want to lower the car but as it stands right now i have problems going up driveways and almost hit when i go over speedbumps. I want to lower the car but also would like to be able to raise it when i need to go up driveways and speedbumps. I have looked at a few different ways but they all do more then what i need it to do. All it needs to do is go up and down everyonce in a while. What would be the best way to do?
thanks for the help trip

i am pretty sure air shocks are the only way to do that, unless you want to get adjustable coilovers. But i think the coilovers would be a wee bit inconvenient. So the only way i know of is air shocks. But if I were you i would though away the lip kit and then get adjustable coilovers and shocks. looks are not the priority for the guys here and scc. so we might not be too much help

i looked at the coilovers system and the only thing i dont like is that if i dropped the car i would have to ajust them when i wanted to go up a curb or a speedbump. I mite be wrong but from what i have read that wold be the thing. Unless they make a system that i could control from inside the car. Havent seen a sytem like that yet.

you are gonna have to go with airbags with what you are speaking of. And performance wise, airbags are not great. I was being sarcastic with the coilovers, it would take like half an hour and a jack to do that. Not sure if people at the supermarket would be happy with you blocking shopping carts for that long just because you need to go over a speed bump. There are only inside adjustable shocks, those don't adjust ride height, due to packaging constraints i don't think there will be a super quick easy way to change height with coil overs, so sorry. Air bags, lose the kit, or do nothing. Those are pretty much your options.

and air bags, would not only make your car handle worse than stock, would clean out your wallet as well. your best bet is to lose the lip, or live with the scrapes.
as crwyatt's saying, if it were my car, i'd ditch the lip, and get a good set of coilovers.
