well, i'm the proud owner of SCC's 'Sweet 16' 200sx project car, and i just found out that one of the rear struts is broken. Motivational Engineering no longer manfactures the suspension that was used on this car. The article simply says 'modified Koni'. My question is, does anyone out there know how they were modified?

no idea but seeing as it already broke that fast do you really want to go with the same brand again, i'm not a koni fan in the least bit, try tokico or tein that might work better for you, just remember that you have to change both on the same axle, not just one.

Koni is not a bad brand.. I use them on my Fiats. Personally, I would write SCC or Coleman and see if they can dig up the facts on the suspension.

Im with Civicking on this one. Teins are generally well made and perform extraordinarly, especially if you spring for the EDFC

yup, i ride with Tein, and I'd definitely recommend it, my car seats four, and still drives like a go-kart!

I have a full race setup by Tein on my MR2 Turbo. I also run the EDFC. It's by far and away one of the best handling cars around because of my suspension improvements. I wouldn't be surprised if it pulled well over 1G on the skidpad.
Speed and power are a mix of mostly three factors: money, motivation, and time. How fast do you want to go and how broke do you want to be when you get there?

I actually have a 200sx with the Tien SS coilovers. Expensive as hell but I haven't looked back
