Ok well I need to find a site that has the blue book values of all the cars but I can only find American sites and i'm Canadian so I need to put in a postal code instead of a zip.

Also I think I might have found my first car an 85 Corolla SR5 but theres a few things wrong with it and a few issues

-It's an SR5 not GT-S
-It's automatic
-It's a coupe not a hatch
-runs but it over heats
-Needs to be towed for 1:30-1:50 ($150-220)
-Can't affoard the taxes to trade the ownership

Can all this be corrected I know it's a simple engine so would a tranny swap be posible and not to expensive? Also can I some how transform it into a hatch?

One last thing I have the money for the car just not the taxes on the ownership fees when you switch over do you know what that taxes are based on and how much % it would be?

Thanks

Where did you find the SR5? I found one on a website that had the exact same specs as yours and was going really cheap. engine was bad and every thing. what color was it? Oh I ALSO found out two cars on www.cars.com with a 1986 toyota corolla sr5 for 1000. it was also a coupe like the one with engine problems but this one was a

modded 4, manual tranny, black w/ gray interior, power steering, fog lights, etc. he lives in MO. then there was a

1987 toyota corolla for 850, 5speed.

check ebay for one. there were two more today that stood out to me.

You can swap the SR-5's engine, tranny, and suspension to GT-S standard, but I don't know what kind of work or expense is invovled. I also don't know how rare those parts are.

If you want to make a hatch for the cred, don't worry about it. The coupe's structure actually makes the SR-5 slightly lighter and stiffer than the hatch. Besides, you would basically need to mate the front end of the coupe to the back end of a hatch to convert a coupe to a hatch. You would be better off sticking with the coupe or finding a hatch if you want one that badly.

Yeah I think it's about 150 lbs lighter. I wouldn't want to make one just for cred just to figure out how to do something like that and learn how to do it.

I found it on autotrader.ca I would give a link but for some reason it doesn't work when you copy and paste links a lot.

Oh yeah it's grey with 230 000 kms and it's in Scarbrough Ontario

That sort of thing falls under the "lots of time, money, and talent" category. I'm not familiar with the Corolla's structure but you might even have to go so far as to cut and splice the frames to turn a coupe into a hatch. At the least, there'd be lots of cutting and welding involved, like on "Monster Garage." Unlike the show, though, you'd have to spend more than a few hours on that type of work because the structure would be significantly weakened without lots of reinforcement and the car could potentially be rendered unsafe for road use.

That reminded me of something I saw on TV. The first (and last) episode of "Pimp My Ride" I saw involved an old Ford Escort hatch that had basically been welded together from two halves and repainted. A high school student drove his family, including his baby siblings, around in it and it was dying. It was such a major saftey hazard the PMR crew immediately junked it and pimped the kid a brand-new Scion xB. The xB was made even more hideous than before the pimping, but at least it's safe.

Ok I'll probably just forget it then because I don't have 2 out of 3 (money and talent.

I remember that episode I havnt' watch PMR in so long I think it's canceled shame It would have been neat to see and escourt done up especicaly since we had 2 before my brother rolled the first one and we sold the second one

Heres a site I found that sells some used 4AGE motors.  Theyre actually relatively cheap.  I think it might be worth getting a SR5 and doing the swap.  It'll also give alot of experience working with cars.

I'd also suggest the following:

Speed and power are a mix of mostly three factors: money, motivation, and time. How fast do you want to go and how broke do you want to be when you get there?

but all those engines are FWD or am I just not looking right?

I don't think I'm going to get this It will cost me to much to tow and I'll have to continue doing this awfull job I hate so much.

So I found 2 cars very close to me one is a rusty 79 pontiac Trans-am with holes in the floor  where you would put your feet but the interior is gutted and the rest looks ok and the interior comes with it.

It runs well and has 97 000 kms on it.

Then theirs a early 90's Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme it's E-tested I think very nice looking and clean and $100

I know I should probably take the Oldsmobile but the Trans Am would be so awsome to have and I could earn a lot more experience on it because It has all the parts I just need to install them plus the Olds only needs a fuel line.

No. The 4AGE is primarily used in RWD setups (Corolla, MR2). I don't recall it ever being used for FWD unless transplanted into a Paseo or something similar.

The Firebird sounds like there's too much work invovled in getting it inspected and on the road.

I'd go for the SR-5, if it's roadworthy or nearly roadworthy, since you won't have to worry about putting in floorboards and stuff to get it on the road. It's slow stock, but that can be fixed in the future with GT-S upgrades. Again, the coupe structure has some advantages over the hatch and some drifters even prefer the coupe with GT-S upgrades over the GT-S hatch. Of course, I'm a little biased since I own a S13 coupe, which is rare in my parts.

I got a car it's a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ceira It's alright  not much rust the interior has some randome sticky *** all over it and something that looks like a crack pipe in the glove box

It was $100 dollars I was going to get a Chrysler or Dodge Daytona for the same price but it had no tranny

I'll post pics tommarow or a link to the cardomain page.
