MOMS new car

My mom has been looking for a new car to replace her hated Expidition (she hated it more than the divil himself) so her and my dad went shopping around and bought this.    2005 Dodge Daytona Charger.  Check it out.

She bought it because it was 4 door, good looking, and because my dad was practically begging her to buy it.  I've heard people say some bad things about but I tell you this.  I love the damn thing.  Its got a 425 and freaking hauls ass!  I peeled out by accident thinking it was like my beamer.  Its got huge amount of trunk space, reasonable milage, and the most comfortable bucket seats that my rear has ever been caressed by.  Only thing I dont like is that its a pretty big car.  I'm a two door kinda guy.  Either way it'll still smoke my car and leave me crying while my dad drives away with my brother in the back watching tv and my mom doing her make up...

Whats your thoughts about it?  Will it be worth it to tune?  Should I convince my parents to do it if it is?

Dude...

is it worth "Tuneing"? hell yeah! but do you need to? doubtful. it's already 425hp, you're not going to need any more than that (for a daily driver)

I say, don't let your dad be content until it's sitting at an even 500hp (you get to decide on whether you want to goad him into making that 500rwhp or not).

Seriously, though, if he's willing to void his warranty, just imagine what a very nicely matched turbo would do with that car?

Of course tune it!  An even 500 hp would be nice.  Maybe even kick it up a little more to 525.  A nice exhaust system would go along way for that extra power.  So would an intake.  Personally, I would supercharge it.  Basically just cause it's a hemi, and you just don't turbo a hemi.  However, in today's world...a nicely matched and mated turbo would definetly kick major arse!

Actually, it's not 425hp (that's the SRT-8). The Daytona R/T makes "only" 350hp. Not that that's a problem, it'll probably still blast most of the other cars off the road both performance and styling wise. And yes, I am jealous, because I really like the Chrysler LX cars. What color is it, Top Banana or Catch Me If You Can Copper/Go Man Go?

Anybody see what Hennessey was able to do with a couple of big Garrets on the Viper?

From 600 to 1000hp.  Something tells me this car woukd benefit just as much

Yeah tune it, but (here's the safety side talking) I wouldn;t do anything that will void the warrany right away.

Nice touch.

Hm, I didn't know it only had 350hp.  Well, its Go Man Go, or orange in normal talk (anyone else think go man go is a strange name for a color?)  Yeah, I don't think my parents would take kindly to voiding the warrenty for extra horsepower my mom would never use.  Now, once the warrenty finishes, I'll just convince my dad first then "trick" my mom into tuning it...

"Mom, I know you really wanted those pairs of shoes for your birthday, but, i thought you'd really enjoy this sweet turbo instead.  Happy birthday mom, enjoy."

Then I'll blame it on my dad if she gets mad.

Chrysler came up with punny names for their musclecar colors in the '60s (ever hear of the infamous Plum Crazy purple?). Dodge is trying to evoke that by using the old colors on the LX Charger Daytonas. The original name for Go ManGo was Catch Me If You Can Copper, but nowadays that name isn't very PC.
