Need a new project.

OK, I am all out of projects.  I sold my Fiero this past spring.  I just finished the Corsa.  It is now rear wheel drive with BMW power under the hood.  I got nothing to do.

The only Idea I had, buy another car and start from scratch.  The current thought is a  ALFA ROMEO 145 Quadrifoglio.  All wheel drive, 150BHP, not too bad.  They want 2,600€ for it and it has 156,000KM on the clock.  That is almost 100,000miles, but it will be completely tore down during the build anyway.  I should be able to see any weakneses then.

Here are some pics, tell me what you think.

Oh, and no, my wife does not approve.  But, I DON'T CARE!!!

The V6 spider is great, but I don't have a whole lot to spend.  I need to keep a little cash extra for build up.  Plus, the genre of car of the spider is being filled by the M3 cabrio at the moment.   I like to own a wide variety af cars.  I can't drive the M3 every day because of weather and there is like no trunk space.  A hatchback fills the other days very well.  I also like it because it is AWD, good for the snow and ice, and for fun.

I am driving to Berlin in the morning to test drive it.  I'll tell you guys how it drives tomorrow night.  I hope it is good, I really like it.

IN a momentary infliction of stupiditis I forgot where you live. Man, Berlin must be beautiful. I hear all of Germany is.

I say yes to it. I like the style, and as noted, as car this clean with 100K mile son the clock would be hard to pass up.

Let us know!

Drives very nice.  It is just as clean in person as in the pictures.  Something just doesn't seem right though.  It is to cheap.  It seemed nice and sound, but I just have that feeling.  Know what I mean?

Anyway, I told the guy I will let him know by Wed evening.  I'll keep you guys posted.

Mmm. Red flags huh? How long has it been on the market? Taken it to a mechanic yet? Is the history of a vehicle public record in Germany?

Lost of ?'s I know.

Yes, the record was public.  It is an accident car.  Not buying it.  I'll look for something else.

Oh well, I really liked it too.  Not going to buy an accident car though.  It needs to be sound for the way I drive.

Well, since that didn't work out, how about a Porsche 944. They're cheap, and pretty sporty.
I saw an absolutely PRISTINE one this morning. A guy was taking his kid to school in it. Bright, glossy, red without any noticable scratches or dings. I wish i had a camera with me.

Sucks to hear, but I can;t say I blame you. I would have passed on it too.

I do like that Porsche idea. They say there is no substitute. I drove a 944 once and loved it.

Already had a Porsche 944 turbo, liked it, but I need something with more trunk space.  A little more room to.  I am looking for a hatchback, AWD and turbo if possible.  I'll just keep looking for now.

I was thinking about a early 90's civic hatch.  The aftermarket support is there.  I am more of a challenge, fabricate some stuff guy though.  Like to do things other people don't do.

Audi A3?

Expensive, yes.  But I believe it fills almost if not all of your requirements

That's a good idea.  I live right here and it never crossed my mind.  I'm going to look and se what we got on the market.  Audis drive like a dream to, smooth as silk.  I like mine a little sportier though.  I'll look into one, thanks for the idea.

cannot go wrong with an A3... they make an S version?

One of my favorite Bimmers was the old E30 325 iX. Seen any of those about? While not a hatch (at least here in the states) they were awd

i guess you prefer German Engineering? Here you go.
well did they ever bring the Audi Coupé Quattro 20v to the states? i really liked those.
or how bout a 90's A6 or S4?
or an 88 quattro or 5000?
how bout a VW Corrado? i loved those things
or a 5.0 stang (late 80s early 90s)
or you could go with a saab 9000.
Scirocco's are pretty cheap nowadays
And i second the E30 idea those were great cars.
now i'm gonna mention an asian car, so you know whats coming next: 1998 supra TT (if you're loaded)
