I Recently had my oil changed, got synthetic, so i doubt ill have to change it for awhile. also got new brake pads(Hawk HPS Street) and fluid, (DOT 5), the good stuff. I've been practicing FWD powerslides in snowy, abandoned parking lots up here in big bear, so Pretty soon my celica's going to need new rubber. i'm thinking of getting either BFgoodrich G-force T/A KDW2, Continental Contisport Contact2, or Dunlop SP9000, Pros and Cons on these tires would be greatly appreciated. Also im going to need a new timing belt soon, can anyone tell me whether to pay the extra and get a timing belt from the toyota dealer, or can I find a cheaper one that will perform just as well or possibly better?

Driving back down to La jolla tomorrow, really enjoyed visiting my friends for thanksgiving up here in big bear.

If you're interested in buying new tires, fear not. It just so happens that our good buddies at C&D just did a comprehensive test of some of the best on the market. Take a peek at the link before you decide:

I know it changed my mind. I'm going to buy a nice set of the Goodyear Eagle F1-GS D3's when I can.

Speed and power are a mix of mostly three factors: money, motivation, and time. How fast do you want to go and how broke do you want to be when you get there?

So what brand oil are you using?

I use Q from Quaker state, advanced engine full synthetic.

also the brake fluid, that was a typo, i use Motul RBF600 DOT 4, not DOT 5.

The difference is that DOT 5 is silicone based, so it doesnt absorb moisture and it can get air bubbles too easily. Also i dont get my brakes that hot anyway. To top it all off it can corrode the system if you mix it with even a tiny bit of other fluid.

And it costs over 100 dollars a gallon.

it's actually almost impossible to get the airbubbles out of DOT 5 silicone fluid.

I run ATE Superblue fluid.. no complaints at all about it. Nice firm pedal.

well i only spent 2 days there, so i didnt see much, my favorite part was the drive up
it was fun, we found this indoor quadding course (thats where i had my incident) with these sand dunes so you could quad all year-round. Basically just a big warehouse turned into a gigantic sandbox. Then I had thanksgiving dinner with the friends and the family, and the next day we headed home, again down that curvy mountain road, not really any time for sight seeing.
