I would check some EVO sites, and find out how restrictive the stock manifold is. I haven't seen any other intake manifolds (other than custom ones) for the EVO, which makes me think they really aren't needed. I would save my $600 and get a nice downpipe.

don't bother with it, that is a high rpm intake that means it will make power at about 8000rpm+ and you will need big cams and other mods top get any value out of it. if you want more flow take you stock intake off and get it extrude honed, it will flow a lot better and still look stock on the outside. follow link http://www.extrudehone.com/

Thanks Civ.  I talk to a EVO tech from close to Lancing, Michigan (your hood) and he told me not to also.  I am how ever doing some research for a set of HKS cam shafts for less than $500 for both.  I already know what I have to do after that...ecu reflash which I will do in Kansas City.  I always welcome your input.  Thanks again.

Now that you mentioned it does look home made.  It could be hand made which is not bad.

What's your opinion on these camshafts?

they are way to big for a steer car, i don't' even think it will idle with cams that big, i like these http://www.crower.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?prod_id=64413-2 look at the duration its 242/240 much better for a street car and even then it will have a slightly looped idle, i mean they will go good with a mildly build head if you want to go for all out performance i like the stage 3 race cams. http://www.crower.com/cat/import/mitsu/camshafts.shtml
