Being a proud DSMer makes it tough for me to look past the EVO but I think this year the blown K-series Lotus just might do the trick. I am very excited to see who comes out on top. This time an LS FD might really kick some tail and that woud be very satisfing.

my guess is the NSX for one reason that rings true (especially in the drag world) - who ever spends the most money goes the fastest. that NSX has wayyy to much moeny dumped into it. twin turbo, great chassis, super high end parts, thats my pick.
XS engineering / m works Z33 may not do that great since its more of a track car with its bare interior and crazy cage, so itll lose points here and there. its also not XS's own car, so there is no 100% effort as seen last year with their dominiting win in the GT-R.
the Lotus in theory should dominate on the track, but it seems to be thrown together poorly.
the r32 GT-R is an awesome car, but the turbo is huuuuge, poorly chosen. there is way too much lag. he was going for big power, not response.
as for the APR STI, it was a show car to showcase the widebody kit. it should score points in that regard.
im not going to comment on a FF crx going up against 650+hp mr, fr, awd, etc.

im hopin for the elise.
i dont kno why ppl bother entering in fwd. didnt the axle of the integra pop out durin the skidpad test last year?!
and look at the front cover....how is an evo and sti and a skyline "unusual suspects"???? o yeah we havent seen any of these yet!
and why do we need 2 STIs? one is enuff for any car i dont care if its an enzo.
the 350z is not a street car, so that shouldnt win anyway. persoanlly, anycar with a rollcage is not streetcar. if they want to name it ultimate track car challenge, then by all means cage em all. but come on, these were originally supposed to be cars that u could drive them to the road course, own the track, then drive them home again. thats what the girlfriend test is for....hellooooooooooo.
and the v8 rx7, ive complained in the past about this setup and have gotten nowhere so i wont even bother, since im an avid mazda fan, i do hope he does well but that lotus looks like the best setup......... i count the hours till this issue comes to my door!

I would like to see the RX7 do well. I know you prefer rotories, but I also happen to like "bastard" cars like that.
I am hoping for the elise too

you guys already gave it away in the back issues page, for almost a week now. i would've liked to have seen the k20 powered Elise win.

heh, like how they can have a mag in the backissues page that is not even on the shelves yet
Personally, I never really cared who won and who lost, I like reading about the trials and tribulations that happened along the way.

I know no one is reading this and might get a little complicated but, here it goes. No, the Elise didnt win. first, the picture of the crawford performance STI in the last issue is not the same cas as the one that competed in the USCC. here's where is gets complicated the pic of the crawford performance car belongs to Russ Warr. the same Russ Warr who drove the Crawford STI in this competition, The same Russ Warr who won the SCC Motor Skills challenge(5/06). also the picture of the STI in the last issue was built by Mavrik Motorsports, the same Mavrik Motorsports who sent a judge to the guru panel(in no way am i saying anything bad about Mavrik Motorsports. i have seen their work and, it is nothing short of breathtaking). i bet no one really cares about all of this. its just another six degrees of seperation thing. and, i can go on for days. trust ***

i was curious about that sti thing.
its a shame the elise wasnt there for like 4 of the 15 events to even participate, it prolly would not have WON but it would be higher than LAST. 6 days to prepare isnt much time, but one of its downfalls was the tires that the writers said had too many heat cycles and were old. in 6 days you wouldnt spent 30 minutes changing them?! o well, the nsx was a great setup tho, one guy named it from the start, the one who spends the most goes the fastest.....
