I was wondering what car would be great for a college kid to have fun with? I have reliable transportation so there is no need for a daily driver, but I would like to drive it on the street. I don't want to spend more than 1500 dollars. I want something reliable. I'm interested in road racing. So what should I get? What about the 2000-2003 Mitsubishi Galant six or four cylinder? Any input would be great, Thanks.

for that much money it will be hard, i don't think you can get a galant for that much. really it will be hard to get anything half decent, i would say look into a camaero, mustang, fiero and so on.

The galant would cost more, like 5 to 7 grand but if it lasts longer the better. I was just wondering if the Galant was worth modifying. Is it a good starting point for a project racer?

Get a DA (90-93 Integra). Get an RS or LS. Don't get the GS--it's a pig.
140hp (92-93) 90-91 models have 130hp 22-25 MPG 2500-2600 curb weight (depending on how much *** you want to take out) Rear disc brakes Speed sensitive steering Rear seats fold down Tons of aftermarket support
